Sag Mill Screen Discharge Chute Replacement

Material Handled: Gold
Handling System: Screening
Handling Rate: 250 Tonnes per Hour (TPH)
SAG (Semi-Autogenous Grinding) mill screen discharge chute at a gold mine experienced skirting wear due to the chute discharging off-centre to the outgoing conveyor. Both the skirting and chute internals were extremely difficult to access.
Maintenance was ad hoc and liners frequently failed prior to the next scheduled shutdown.
The severe skirting wear was a result of the chute design causing off-centre loading to the conveyor. This not only caused the wear on the skirting system, it also lead to conveyor tracking issues and spillage.
- Severe skirting wear
- Off-centre conveyor loading
- Chute and skirt difficult to access for maintenance
WEARX designed and installed a WEARBACK® linerless chute which centrally loaded the conveyor, eliminated the severe skirting wear, and significantly reduced the belt tracking issues and spillage.
The design also incorporated large front doors to allow easy access for the maintenance of the ledges.
- Skirting wear eliminated
- Conveyor centrally loaded
- Easy access for maintenance
