Mill Lining

Rubber lining of mills is integral for ensuring longevity of a mine sites wear life.

Before steel wear liners are installed the parent metal of the mill needs to be protected from corrosion caused by wet material.

WEARX lines the parent metal of mills with high wear resistant rubber to create a strong seal between the mill and the steel lining system.

WEARX deliver a full maintenance program consisting of stripping, sandblasting, relines and repairs to ensure the mill can operate to its full potential and maximum wear life.

Case Study

WEARX manage the rubber lining of mills at the Olympic Dam Mine in South Australia.

The WEARX site services team is responsible for relining the Fuller Mill – the second largest mill on site.

Relining of rubber backing is completed in 10-14 day shutdowns by working around the scheduled steel liner change-outs. This usually requires WEARX’s site services team to start from the discharge end and work their way to the feed end of the mill.

The WEARX team are known to complete all mill relines ahead of schedule while upholding the highest standards of quality and safety.
